Includes Mowing, Edging, Line Trimming and Debris Clean-up.  Emerald Lawnscapes sets up mowing frequency based on the desires of the client and the growing patterns of the lawn.  Generally the Emerald plan includes weekly mowing.  The Diamond plan includes mowing every ~14 days.  Emerald Lawnscapes mowing season begin when the grass starts growing (between late March and mid April and ends in early to mid-November with December mowings by special request.  A specific number of mows is estimated, but is not guaranteed and depends, to a great extent, on the weather and conditions.

The Emerald Care package includes core aeration, top dressing/core redistribution, overseeding and fertilization of the lawn areas.  This program is performed when the ground is moist and the temperatures are still relatively cool, in order to take advantage of optimal growth conditions for new grass.  Core Aeration loosens the soil base and also creates conditions that minimize water runoff to allow the water to reach the roots of the grass.  Top dressing/core redistribution facilitates drainage of water into the soil and avoids rapid runoff.  Overseeding and fertilization improve the lawn coverage as well as build up a strong root system.  We recommend a yearly program, with twice-yearly for heavily compacted yards, clay  subsoil  or after severe drought condition over the Summer months

Includes preparation of flower and shrub beds, cultivating the beds as necessary, removing dead plants and weeding the beds.  The beds are then edged, a pre-emergent weed-  control is applied and then a thick coverage of hardwood mulch is applied.  The cost includes the mulch, pre-emergent, delivery, hauling and spreading.  This is usually done in early Spring (before weeds start to grow and invade the beds).

Includes weeding of the mulched beds as requested during the growing season per the client’s schedule (1, 2 or 3 times per year).  

Includes pruning and shaping of shrubs and trimming of hedges and hedge rows.  This is done as needed during the growing season per the client’s schedule.  Major pruning is done at the appropriate time for each type of tree, shrub or plant.

Includes grass fertilization as well as seasonal treatments for crabgrass, broadleaf weeds and various lawn pests.  Generally a pre-emergent crabgrass killer is put down in early Spring.  A weed-control + fertilizer product is applied in late Spring.  A pest-control + fertilizer product is applied in early Summer, and additional fertilizations are applied in early and late Fall.  We will set up a fertilization program (1-5 applications) based on your type of grass and its condition and needs.    

One of the most overlooked conditions in lawn care programs is soil pH.  Because of the tree canopy in Cheverly, soil pH is drastically altered.  Seasonal application of Pelletized Lime can bring the pH back into the optimum range for grass and plant growth.

This is a fertilization program for flowers, shrubs and trees.  We recommend fertilizing plant beds, shrubs, and trees 2-3 times during the growing season.  If you haven’t had any plant fertilizations done in the past few years and wondered why the flowering shrubs no longer flower as profusely, you will be amazed by the results.  

Emerald Lawnscapes offers a 2-Step Leaf Clean-up program for maintenance program clients, which includes clean-ups in mid to late Fall through early to mid Winter.  With a Spring clean up coming at the start of the new growing season.  This keeps leaves from matting down grass which leads to mold growth and, eventually, dead patches of grass in your lawn.  These clean ups are generally coordinated with the town leaf pick up schedule, unless requested by the client.  

Emerald Lawnscapes offers gutter cleaning during the late Spring and late Fall.  During these seasons, gutters get filled with debris falling from trees which clogs downspouts, causing water problems on roofs and in basements.
